India name squad for Australia Tests

India have announced their squad for the upcoming Test series against Australia, revealing a mix of familiar faces and new talent. The squad also has some notable absentees and additions. In the 18-member squad, three uncapped players, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy have been included. 

Rohit Sharma will be leading the squad, with Jasprit Bumrah set to serve as his deputy. The high-profile Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, having five Test matches, is scheduled to be played next month. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami is a notable absentee as he hasn’t fully recovered from an injury. 

Kuldeep Yadav wasn’t available for selection due to a chronic left groin issue. Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini and Khaleel Ahmed have been added as travelling reserves. The first Test will begin in Perth on November 22.
