Afghanistan and Bangladesh will square off in the opening ODI of a highly anticipated three-match series on Wednesday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The two teams are set to clash in what promises to be an exciting series, with both teams looking forward to making their mark. All three matches of the series will be played at the same venue.

The ODI matches will provide both Afghanistan and Bangladesh a platform to test their skills and build momentum. Afghanistan enter the series with immense confidence, having recently registered their first-ever ODI series win against South Africa at the same venue in September.

Afghanistan have made significant strides in world cricket over the past few years, with players making their mark with swashbuckling performances. With a team full of talented players like Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Mohammad Nabi, Afghanistan would look to challenge Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have also been a rising force in ODI cricket, especially in their home conditions. They too will hope to pull down Afghanistan to claim the series.

Head-to-Head

Afghanistan and Bangladesh have faced each other in ODI cricket several times, with Bangladesh having the upper hand with 10 victories in 16 games they have played so far. However, Afghanistan have shown significant improvement in recent years, and this series could provide an opportunity to bridge the gap in their rivalry.

AFG probable XI: Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Abdul Malik, Rahmat Shah, Hasmatullah Shahidi (c), Azmatullah Omarzai, Ikram Akhil, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Nangialai Kharote, Fareed Ahmed

BAN probable XI: Anamul Haque, Tanzid Hasan, Najimul Hossain Shanto (c), Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmadullah Mehidu, Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
