Delhi Capitals’ skipper Axar Patel has been slapped with a fine of INR 12 lakh after his side maintained a slow-over rate during their match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. According to IPL rules, Patel was handed Rs 12 lakh fine because this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate.

Talking about the match, Delhi Capitals suffered a 12-run defeat against Mumbai Indians after they failed to chase a total of 205 set by Mumbai Indians, with Tilak Varma playing an astonishing innings of 59. He was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Ricketon, who both scored 40 and 41, respectively. In the bowling department, Karn Sharma and Mitchell Santner played key roles, claiming crucial wickets at the right time. For DC, Karun Nair led the chase with his eye-catching 89 off 40, but after his wicket, DC's hopes for a win also vanished.
