West Indies and Bangladesh are gearing up to face each other in the first T20I of a three-match series on Monday in Chattogram. After an eventful ODI series that saw Bangladesh clinch victory 2–1, both teams will be eager to start the shortest format on a strong note.

The recently concluded ODI series provided plenty of entertainment and drama. Bangladesh began with a dominant 74-run win in the opening game. West Indies bounced back in the second match, forcing a Super Over and emerging victorious in a nail-biting finish, underlining their power-hitting prowess. However, Bangladesh sealed the series by claiming a whopping 179-run win in the final game.

Heading into the T20Is, Bangladesh will look to maintain the winning momentum. Players like Liton Das, Jaker Ali, Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain will be expected to play key roles in the batting unit, while the bowling attack, led by Mustafizur Rahman, will aim to keep the West Indian power hitters at bay.

On the other hand, West Indies will be determined to bounce back. They will rely on players such as Rovman Powell, Alick Athanaze, and Brandon King to deliver with the bat. Their bowlers will also be eager to make good use of the subcontinent conditions and apply pressure on Bangladesh’s top order.
