India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has been named in Mumbai’s squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scheduled to begin on November 26. The 17-member squad will be led by all-rounder Shardul Thakur, with several high-profile names such as Shivam Dube, Sarfaraz Khan, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ayush Mhatre featuring in the side.

Suryakumar’s inclusion is a significant move ahead of India’s T20I series against South Africa starting December 9, offering him valuable game time after a challenging run over the past few months. Yadav has experienced a significant dip in international form, scoring only 184 runsin 15 T20Is.

Mumbai squad: Shardul Thakur (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Siddhesh Lad, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube, Sairaj Patil, Musheer Khan, Suryansh Shedge, Atharva Ankolekar, Tanush Kotian, Shams Mulani, Tushar Deshpande, Irfan Umair and Hardik Tamore (wk)
