Kohli demonstrates dominance, slams 53rd ODI century

Indian legend Virat Kohli blazed his record-extending 53rd ODI century on Wednesday in the second ODI match against South Africa on Wednesday. Showing his timeless class, Kohli raced to his century off 90 balls, featuring seven fours and two sixes. The century comes hot on the heels of the 52nd ODI century in the first ODI.
One thing Kohli has noticeably exhibited in his back-to-back knocks is that he has cracked them with effectiveness and certain authority. Now with his 53rd hundred, Kohli has further distanced himself in the list of most hundreds by any batter in a single international format. Overall, this is Kohli's 84th international century.
The latest innings is a testament to his enduring perseverance and hunger for runs. Moreover, he once again reasserted his status as the match-winner. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad also raised his maiden ODI century. Both Kohli and Gaikwad forged a 195-run partnership off 156 deliveries. Gaikwad scored his century off 77 balls.
