"Proud of the way...": Sachin Tendulkar’s touching tribute after Arjun makes his LSG debut
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared an emotional message on social media after his son, Arjun Tendulkar, finally made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants during the side's match against PBKS on Saturday in Lucknow. LSG ended up suffering a five-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings, but Arjun’s performance stood out. The young all-rounder showed composure, making an immediate impact with the ball by dismissing PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh.
He returned with the figures of 1/36 from his four overs. What was even more impressive was his economy rate of 9, which was the best among all LSG bowlers in the match. Arjun nearly enjoyed a dream start to his spell, but captain Rishabh Pant dropped a straightforward catch that denied him a wicket in his opening over.
"Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match. Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always," Sachin wrote on X.
Apart from his bowling effort, he also contributed with the bat, scoring 5 runs from five deliveries. Meanwhile, LSG slipped to their tenth defeat, ending their campaign on a disastrous note. The side could only manage to notch up four victories in 14 matches.
