MI race to their maiden win in IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians have kick-started their Indian Premier League campaign after beating Delhi Capitals by (29) runs on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium in what was their first victory of the tournament. Defending a humongous total of (234), powered by the blistering knocks from Rohit Sharma (49), Ishan Kishan (42), Tim David (45) and Romario Shepherd (39) respectively, Mumbai Indians halted DC’s innings for 205/5 in (20) overs .
However, Tristan Stubbs’ unbeaten (71) off (25) gave Delhi Capitals some hope of bouncing back into the game, but MI’s determination with the ball helped them get over the line. DC opener Prithvi Shaw bludgeoned (66 )off (40), keeping the team in line with the chase, and the smearing innings from Abshik Porel (41) off (31) made it look easier for Delhi Capitals.
However, their quick wickets in the middle-order put great pressure on other players, with skipper Rishabh Pant scoring only (1) off (3) deliveries. Earlier, asked to bat, MI opener Rohit Sharma’s bludgeoning power laid the foundation for team’s huge total, hammering six fours and three sixes.
MI’s innings was further bolstered by a fiery innings from Ishan Kishan scoring (42). A brilliant batting on display down the order helped Mumbai Indians post a big total on board. This is their first victory in the four games.
