Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph awarded multi-year contracts by CWI

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has awarded multi-year contracts to its players Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie and Jayden Seales. CWI has also awarded one-year contracts to the players such as Alick Athanaze, Kraigg Brathwaite, Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd among others. It comes on the heels of a new four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in January 2024 between CWI and the West Indies Players.
The contract period comes into effect from October 1 for both two-year contracts and one-year contracts. The one-year contracts will come to an end on September 30, 2025, while multi-year contracts will end on September 30, 2026. Among Women, Shemaine Campbelle, Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor are the only players to have bagged two-year contracts.
"CWI has committed to maintaining open and honest dialogue with players, and being practical about the realities of the modern game. The players have responded in kind, and the acceptance of multi-year contracts is an indication of clarity, confidence and commitment on both sides. I'd like to congratulate the entire contracted cohort on their performances in the last assessment period, and I look forward to them building on those in next one,” The board's director of cricket Miles Bascombe said in a statement
