Nandre Burger ruled out of Ireland ODIs, Bangladesh Tests

South African fast bowler Nandre Burger has been ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series against Ireland and the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh due to an injury. This new development comes as a significant blow to the South Africa’s bowling attack.
Nandre Burger “experienced discomfort in his lower back, and subsequent scans revealed the injury. He will return home and undergo further assessments,” CSA said in a statement.
The replacement for Nandre Burger will be named soon. Burger has been in the scheme of things since making his debut in December 2023. As of now, Burger has played three Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is for the proteas.
