The 30th match of the ongoing Big Bash League will see Sydney Sixers lock horns with Perth Scorchers on Saturday at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. Sydney Sixers are positioned second in the points table with four victories out of seven games. They have lost two games and one game yielded no result. They have nine points and a positive NRR of +0.041. 

Perth Scorchers, on the other hand, sitting on the fifth place, need to win this battle to pull themselves up in the points table. Out of seven matches having been played by Scorchers so far in the tournament, they have won three games and lost four. They carry six points and a positive NRR of +0.624. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been rested. 

For Sixers, veteran Steve Smith is set to make his first appearance for the team in the ongoing season. Sixers lost their last game against Stars but they would look to get back to the winning ways. Overseas players James Vince and Akeal Hossain have played their games of the season. Meanwhile, Sixers have added Jafer Chohan to the squad.
