South Africa have named their squad for the first ODI of the Tri-Series involving Pakistan and New Zealand, set to begin on February 8. Ahead of the series, South Africa have suffered a major blow, with their pacer Gerald Coetzee being ruled out of the series and the Champions Trophy.

South Africa will play their first ODI of the tri-series on February 10 against New Zealand in Lahore. Coetzee, who had recently made a recovery from an injury, which had also forced him to sit out of SA20, pulled up sore during a training session on Wednesday.

The replacement will be announced in due course. Earlier, South Africa had originally named a 12-member squad for the first match of the series, including Coetzee. But, his latest injury has ruled him out of the series and the global tournament.

South Africa have included six uncapped players in their squad in Matthew Breetzke, North, Meeka-eel Prince, Gideon Peters, Eathan Bosch and Senuran Muthusamy

South Africa squad (For first ODI): Temba Bavuma (capt), Eathan Bosch, Matthew Breetzke, Junior Dala, Wiaan Mulder, Mihlali Mpongwana, Senuran Muthusamy, Gideon Peters, Meeka-eel Prince, Jason Smith, Kyle Verreynne
