IPL debutant Ashwani Kumar made a sensational debut, snaring the figures of 4-24 to help Mumbai Indians fold Kolkata Knight Riders for 116 in 16.2 overs. With four wickets, Kumar became the first Indian to register a four-wicket haul on IPL debut. However, ahead of the match, Kumar was feeling so incredibly anxious that he didn’t have his lunch.

"I didn't have anything for lunch, I just had a banana. There was a little pressure, so I wasn't feeling hungry. But still, I played well, so it's good,” Ashwani said while speaking to the broadcaster.

Rookie bowler credited team environment for feeling no pressure.

"I was feeling really good. There was a little pressure initially, but due to the environment of the team, I didn't feel any pressure,” he said.

This was Mumbai’s first win of the campaign as they raced to victory in 12.5 overs, with Ryan Rickelton playing an outstanding knock of 62 unbeaten to power MI to an eight-wicket win.
