Jitesh Sharma credits Dinesh Karthik for T20 surge

For Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma, a surge in his T20 form has been a result of both personal growth and valuable guidance from Royal Challengers Bengaluru mentor Dinesh Karthik. Jitesh has made valuable contributions in the ongoing IPL, playing several crucial innings that have lifted the team in tough situations. Jitesh also stated that Dinesh Karthik believes he can be a 360-degree player.
"It's been a great journey till now because in the off-season, I really worked hard with him. I think whichever shot I am playing right now is the replica of what he used to play. He is trying to create a new player in me, because he believes that I can play 360 degrees. I am really enjoying myself in this new role,” Jitesh said during the press conference ahead of DC match.
Jitesh, most recently played a high-octane innings against Mumbai Indians, blasting a valuable 40 off 19 to provide a late impetus to the side. His knock involved some eye-catching shots which Jitesh believed thrilled him the most. He also underlined that all has been possible due to the team’s backing.
"While I am playing those shots, I am very happy because I have never tried those shots. And I am able to execute with all the backing I have. It's been a wonderful journey which I am still excited about."
