GT overcome SRH in high-scoring showdown
Gujarat Titans once again churned out a commanding performance, overpowering struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad by 38 runs in a high-scoring battle on Friday in Ahmedabad. Defending a formidable total of 224, GT’s bowlers stood tall, restricting the SRH to 186/6 in 20 overs and sealing an emphatic victory.
Chasing a monumental total, SRH’s struggle was on full display, despite a valiant effort from Abhishek Sharma, who fought hard with a belligerent 74-run knock. However, the lack of support from other batters triggered SRH’s downfall. On the other hand, GT’s disciplined bowling kept SRH batters in check, never allowing them to gain momentum .
Earlier, asked to bat, GT openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill provided the side a blistering start, blasting 48 and 76 respectively, setting the tone for a massive total. Shubman Gill, who top-scored with an impressive knock of 76, was controversially given run out. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler then added to the carnage, smashing a rapid 64 off just 37 deliveries, guiding the side to a formidable total of 224/6 in 20 overs.
