IPL 2025: KKR gear up to face RCB in must-win battle

The 58th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to witness the face-off between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match will be crucial for both teams as the tournament resumes after a one-week suspension, caused by the rising tensions between the neighbouring countries India and Pakistan.
RCB enter this match in an excellent position, sitting second on the points table with 16 points from 11 matches. With eight wins under their belt, they are firmly in the playoff race and will be looking to build on their solid performances so far. Overall, RCB have shown consistency and resolve throughout the competition. Their key players, who had departed India in the wake of escalating tensions, have rejoined the side to further boost their chances for playoffs. A win for RCB would guarantee them a spot in the playoffs.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders are in a more precarious position, sitting sixth on the points table with just 11 points from 11 games. With five wins, they are still in with a chance of making the playoffs but will need to win the match against RCB to keep their hopes alive. In fact, they need to emerge victorious in their remaining two games to have a chance of getting into the playoffs. Meanwhile, KKR will have to address their lapses in both batting and bowling if they are to overcome the high-flying RCB in what promises to be a tough contest.
