“He's been good as a leader”: Zaheer Khan lauds Pant

Lucknow Super Giants’ mentor Zaheer Khan has lauded the leadership of Rishabh Pant despite LSG finishing with six wins in fourteen games in IPL 2025. Pant himself endured a challenging phase with the bat, failing to make substantial contributions and fighting to overcome dreadful form. However, he had a good time with the bat during LSG’s match against RCB on Tuesday, where he blasted a scintillating knock of 118 unbeaten to power his side to a formidable total of 227/3 in 20 overs.
“Well, he's been good as a leader. That was a bright positive for us throughout the season. The form with the bat was definitely a learning experience for him, having this kind of season. But his ability and calibre are not in doubt. That's how we are looking at it,” Zaheer Khan stated during the post-match press conference.
“We're happy he finished on a strong note - that's the caliber he has and the impact he can have on the game,” Zaheer said.
Despite his eye-catching knock, LSG were unable to stop RCB from clinching a comprehensive win, with Jitesh Sharma leading the side to victory with a statement 85 not out. LSG, on the other side, ended their campaign on a losing note.
