Shamar Joseph ruled out of India Tests
West Indies have suffered a significant blow ahead of their upcoming two-match Test series against India next month, as fast-bowling star Shamar Joseph has been ruled out of the series due to injury. Joseph would be re-evaluated ahead of the white-ball tour of Bangladesh. Following the Test assignment against India, West Indies are scheduled to play Bangladesh in three ODIs from October 18, followed by three T20Is from October 27 to November 1.
Cricket West Indies(CWI) confirmed in a social media post that Joseph has been ruled out of the series after suffering an injury. In his place, uncapped pace-bowling allrounder Johann Layne has been called up to the squad. Johann Layne has played 19 first class games, scoring 495 runs in 32 innings with two fifties. He has also taken 66 wickets.
