Adam Voges appointed Seattle Orcas head coach

Former Australian cricketer Adam Voges is set to take over as head coach of Seattle Orcas ahead of the next season of Major League Cricket (MLC). He will be replacing Matthew Mott, who stepped down from the position midway through the 2025 season. Their 2025 MLC season proved rocky, losing their first five games of the campaign, and subsequently the franchise parted ways with then-head coach Matthew Mott.
Alongside that, long-time captain Heinrich Klaasen also stepped down, citing a desire to focus solely on his batting. Voges leaves behind a highly successful eight-year stint as head coach of the Western Australia men's cricket team.
Under his guidance, WA clinched a hat-trick of Sheffield Shield titles in 2021–22, 2022–23, and 2023–24. He has also worked with Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL), serving as an assistant coach to head coach Justin Langer.
“We are thrilled to welcome Adam Voges to the Seattle Orcas family. He brings a proven pedigree of winning, a distinctive ability to develop world-class talent, and a deep understanding of the nuances of T20 franchise cricket," Seattle Orcas CEO Hemant Dua said, as quoted by the Seattle Orcas on their official website.
