He has had a distinguished playing career and a well-respected coaching journey. His arrival will play a massive role in Namibia's campaign at the T20I World Cup 2026.

In his playing career, Kirsten scored 7289 Test runs and 6798 ODI runs in 101 Tests and 185 ODIs, respectively. His most celebrated accomplishment came during his tenure as head coach of India, guiding the side to their second ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup title in 2011.
