The Indian women's team's skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, overtook Australian star Meg Lanning to become the most successful captain in women's T20Is. The landmark moment came during the third T20I between India and Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, where India registered a convincing eight-wicket victory to clinch the five-match series 3–0.

With this latest win, she now has 77 victories as captain in women’s T20Is, the most by any player in the format. She has led India in 130 matches, recording 48 losses and five no results, with an impressive win percentage of 58.46.

The record previously belonged to former Australian captain Meg Lanning, who guided Australia to 76 wins in just 100 T20I matches, suffering only 18 defeats. Talking about the series, India's emphatic win against Sri Lanka in the third T20I helped them go 3-0 up in the five-match series. Chasing a modest target of 113, Indian batters made light work of the Sri Lankan bowling attack, overhauling the target in 13.2 overs.
