Jamie Siddons appointed head coach of Sri Lanka women’s team

Sri Lanka Cricket on Thursday announced the appointment of Jamie Siddons as the new head coach of the women’s cricket team. The experienced Australian will take charge of the side for a one-year tenure beginning on March 16, 2026.

Siddons’ appointment comes at an important stage as the team prepares for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in England during June and July 2026. His first assignment will be the Sri Lanka Women’s tour of Bangladesh, which is set to be held between April and May 2026.

Looking at Siddons' career, he enjoyed a distinguished domestic playing career in Australia that lasted for 16 years. He represented both South Australia and Victoria cricket team. Siddons also served as the head coach of the Bangladesh men's team from 2007 to 2011.
