Young gun Vaibhav Suryavanshi shines in Rajasthan's thumping win over CSK

In a scintillating start to their campaign, Rajasthan Royals outclassed Chennai Super Kings with a resounding eight-wicket victory on Monday in Guwahati. The match was a one-sided affair as Rajasthan chased down a modest target of 128 with ease, finishing the job in 12.1 overs.
RR's chase was headlined by a remarkable batting display by rising sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who notched up a 15-ball half-century. The young batter looked unstoppable, unleashing a fearless assault on the CSK bowlers. His explosive 52 off 17, featuring five sixes and four boundaries, laid the foundation for RR's win. Yashasvi Jaiswal played his role with composure, remaining unbeaten on 38 off 36.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings, asked to bat, endured a nightmare start. The top order collapsed under pressure, losing four wickets during the powerplay. RR's Nandre Burger was instrumental in the early damage, striking twice in quick succession. Key players like Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to make an impact, leaving CSK struggling to recover.
The middle and lower order couldn’t stabilise the innings either, despite a brief fightback. Ravindra Jadeja, meanwhile, turned the screws further with a sharp spell, picking up two wickets in an over, while Jofra Archer returned two wickets of his own. Amid the collapse, Jamie Overton stood out as the lone warrior for Chennai. His 43-run innings helped push the total to 127 in 19.4 overs.
