Flawless Hyderabad rise with commanding win over KKR

Coming out with all guns blazing, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured their first win of the season with a convincing 65-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on Thursday. After a disappointing start against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Hyderabad side bounced back in style, rising to the occasion with both batting firepower and disciplined bowling under pressure. Asked to bat first, SRH got off to an energetic start, with Travis Head setting the tone through an aggressive 46 off 21 balls.
Abhishek Sharma crafted a brilliant 48. However, the momentum briefly shifted when the middle order stumbled, slipping to 118/4 midway through the innings. KKR's Blessing Muzarabani turned the tide for Kolkata during this phase, striking twice in a single over to remove both Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Meanwhile, SRH's Heinrich Klaasen stepped up once again. Continuing his impressive form this season, Klaasen hammered 52 off 35, registering his second consecutive half-century. His knock helped SRH recover from the collapse and push their total to a formidable 226/8 in 20 overs.
Chasing the total, Kolkata Knight Riders faced an uphill task from the very beginning. Despite early setbacks, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh tried to stabilise the innings with crucial contributions of 52 and 35 respectively. Their partnership briefly reignited hope for the home side, but once both Raghuvanshi and Rinku fell within a span of three overs, KKR’s innings went down rapidly. KKR lost wickets at regular intervals as they crumbled to 161 all out in 16 overs.
