Cummins flies back home for final scan

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has flown back home to undergo a final medical assessment on his back. According to ESPNcricinfo, the scan is a scheduled one to be conducted under the supervision of Cricket Australia (CA). Meanwhile, Cummins is expected to join the squad on April 17.
Cummins has had a disrupted run over the past several months, featuring in very limited competitive cricket. His only notable appearance was in a single Test during the Ashes. He has already missed SRH's opening two games due to the back issue. In spite of the injury, Cummins had linked up with the Hyderabad camp ahead of the IPL. And he also bowled actively in the nets. However, Cricket Australia (CA), which has been closely monitoring Cummins’ recovery, is yet to clear him to return to action. Under his leadership, SRH have had one win and one defeat.
They kicked off their campaign with a defeat against RCB. However, they bounced back strongly to claim a thumping win against KKR. Earlier, Cummins had hinted that he will miss the first half of the IPL.
“I'm still recovering from a back injury, but it's good. I'm back bowling in the nets. The IPL is starting soon. I won't make the start of that, but it shouldn't be too long before I'm back out there playing,” Cummins had said on the Business of Sports podcast.
