Smriti Mandhana shatters Rohit Sharma's massive record

Indian batter Smriti Mandhana has created history by becoming India’s highest run-scorer in T20Is. The stylish left-hander achieved this feat during the opening match of the five-game T20I series against South Africa in Durban. Mandhana headed into the match tied with Rohit Sharma, who previously held the Indian record for most T20I runs.

With a steady contribution of 13 runs off 14 deliveries in the match, she moved past his tally and set a new benchmark. In 161 matches, she has amassed 4,244 runs at an average of 30.31, striking at 124.38. Her record includes a century and 33 half-centuries.

Her achievement places her second on the all-time list of run-scorers in women’s T20 Internationals, trailing only Suzie Bates, who leads with 4,717 runs in 175 innings.
