IPL 2026: PBKS sail past LSG in an effortless win

Continuing their unbeaten run, Punjab Kings, putting on a commanding all-round show, overpowered Lucknow Super Giants with a resounding 54-run win in a high-scoring encounter on Sunday in Chandigarh. After being asked to bat, Punjab Kings piled up a massive total of 254/7 in 20 overs. Punjab were helped by an electrifying partnership between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly, who completely shifted the momentum after an early setback.
Mohammed Shami had struck in the very first over to remove Prabhsimran Singh, giving Lucknow Super Giants a promising start. However, Arya and Connolly forged a breathtaking 182-run stand in 80 balls. Arya blasted 93 off 37 deliveries, and Connolly complemented him perfectly, slamming 87 from 46 balls.
Chasing 255, Lucknow had a fine start. Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni began aggressively, scoring 40 and 35 respectively. Despite their efforts, the innings lacked continuity as wickets fell at crucial moments. Captain Rishabh Pant tried to anchor the chase with a determined 43 but struggled to accelerate.
The middle and lower order failed to step up, with Nicholas Pooran managing 9 runs. Lower the order, Aiden Markram and Mukul Choudhary scored 42 and 21*, respectively, as LSG mustered 200/5 in 20 overs.
