IPL 2026: Angkrish Raghuvanshi fined heavily for Code of Conduct breach

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been slapped with a fine of 20 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the side's match against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday in Lucknow. The incident unfolded after Raghuvanshi was given out for obstructing the field. Following the decision, Raghuvanshi, on his way back to the pavilion, slammed the boundary cushion with his bat and threw his helmet. As a result, he also copped one demerit point.
"Angkrish Raghuvanshi, batter & wicket-keeper, Kolkata Knight Riders, has been fined 20% of his match fee and has also accumulated one Demerit Point for breaching Level 1 of the IPLâs Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during Match No. 38 against Lucknow Super Giants," the IPL said in a statement.
"Raghuvanshi was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the IPLâs Code of Conduct, which relates to âabuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match.â The incident occurred in the 5th over, when, after being given out for âobstructing the fieldâ, Raghuvanshi struck the boundary cushion with his bat in an aggressive manner and subsequently threw his helmet into the dugout in a similar manner."
Raghuvanshi admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Refereeâs sanction," the statement added.
Talking about the match, Kolkata Knight Riders emerged victorious after sealing the Super Over thriller, with Sunil Narine and Rinku Singh playing their key role.
