Marsh stars as LSG soar to victory against CSK

Mitchell Marsh smashed a magnificent knock of 90 as Lucknow Super Giants stormed to a convincing seven-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings on Friday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Chasing a target of 188, Marsh set the tone early for LSG with an aggressive approach that kept the Chennai bowlers under pressure throughout the chase.
During his destructive knock, Marsh blazed nine boundaries and seven sixes to totally corner CSK. Alongside him, Josh Inglis played a valuable hand of 36. Even after the departures of Marsh and Inglis, Lucknow remained in the game, with Nicholas Pooran blasting a quickfire 32*, while Mukul Choudhary remained unbeaten on 13 to guide LSG to victory in 16.4 overs.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings fought hard to post a competitive total of 187/5 after being asked to bat. However, their innings suffered an early setback due to the brilliant spell from pacer Akash Singh, who finished with impressive figures of 3/26. The left-arm seamer struck crucial blows by dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel.
Meanwhile, Kartik Sharma rose to the occasion with a sensational counterattacking knock. He built a crucial 70-run partnership with Dewald Brevis. Kartik shone with a superb 71 off 42 deliveries, smashing six fours and five sixes. Shivam Dube also added an unbeaten 32 from only 16 balls, helping CSK get to a respectable total.
