"He doesn't plan anything": Dhurv Jurel lauds Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Rajasthan Royals' batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ruled the eliminator clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, blitzing a spirited knock of 97 off 29 balls to power his side to 47-run victory. What made the innings even more splendid was the manner in which he dominated every bowler, showing no fear and putting every delivery, which was in his arc, into the stands. Sooryavanshi, who has already exhibited his batting skills, maintained brute power in the unforgettable display.

In his astonishing knock of 97, the 15-year-old tonked 12 sixes and five boundaries, narrowly missing out on his century. If he had scored the century, then he would have surpassed Chris Gayle’s all-time fastest IPL century record. Meanwhile, RR wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, speaking on Vaibhav's technics, lauded his approach and highlighted the fearless intent that he carries.

"The best thing about Vaibhav that I have noticed is that he doesn't plan anything. Because he practices a lot and he always backs himself. That's what he does every time he goes out and plays. The best thing about him is that he backs himself. He doesn't even have a shadow of doubt that 'I am not able to do it'," Jurel said at the press conference.

Jurel also stressed that Sooryavanshi does not care about the bowler; he just focuses on the ball.

"When we go to an academy, (we're told) 'Don't watch the bowler, watch the ball. As 17-year-olds, we always watch the bowler, (and think) he's a big name. But really, he just watches the ball. That's all."

"His mantra is 'I don't want to give a damn about any bowler,'" he said.

Rajasthan will now face Gujarat Titans ‌‌in ‌‌qualifier 2 on Friday, with the winner storming into the final against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, set to be played on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
