Hardik Pandya cleared to resume international duties

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been cleared to play by the Sports Science team of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's Centre of Excellence and is expected to participate in India's upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan beginning on Sunday.
The three-match series will be held in Lucknow, Dharamshala and Chennai, with matches scheduled on June 13, 17 and 20, respectively. Pandya, who was out of action for Mumbai Indians in a few games during the IPL 2026 due to back spasms, has been at the CoE in Bengaluru since June 2.
“Hardik was on a holiday abroad before he checked in at the CoE on June 2. Over the next five days, he did several match simulations and even bowled (the full quota of) 10 overs,” a BCCI source told PTI.
“There has been no discomfort and the information is that his fitness data for various parameters has been okayed by Strength and Conditioning coaches at the CoE,” the source added.
On Monday, India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, speaking on Pandya, said that he did not have any update on Pandya's fitness, however he maintained that the star all-rounder was doing fine.
