West Indies have announced their squad for the upcoming two-match World Test Championship (WTC) series against Sri Lanka, with wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva and batter Amir Jangoo earning recalls to the Test setup. The series, scheduled to begin later this month in the Caribbean, will be an important assignment for West Indies as they look to strengthen their position in the new WTC cycle.

The side is also boosted by the return of fast bowlers Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph. The pair return after missing the tours of India and New Zealand late last year due to injuries. Roston Chase will lead the squad that also includes John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge and Shai Hope.

“Every Test series is an opportunity for us to grow as a team and strengthen our identity. Sri Lanka are a quality side, so we know we’ll have to be at our best, but we’re excited about the challenge ahead," West Indies head coach Daren Sammy said.

The first test will commence on June 25 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The second Test, which will be played from July 3, will be held at the same venue.

West Indies test squad: Roston Chase (c), Jomel Warrican, John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Joshua Da Silva, Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Shai Hope, Amir Jangoo, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Anderson Phillip, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales.
