Zimbabwe topple Bangladesh to claim historic win
Zimbabwe demolished Bangladesh by an innings and 85 runs in the one-off Test at the Harare Sports Club on Tuesday, claiming their biggest-ever victory in Test cricket. Bangladesh were completely outplayed by Zimbabwe, struggling against their incredible bowling performance and getting dismissed for 140 in their first innings.
Mominul Haque was the lone warrior for Bangladesh with a fighting 60-run knock. And for Zimbabwe, Newman Nyamhuri took four wickets while Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava returned with two wickets each. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, performed smartly with the bat, piling up 410 runs to corner Bangladesh.
Opener Innocent Kaia blasted a magnificent 140 to register his maiden Test century. Brian Bennett, Craig Ervine and Wesley Madhevere hit 59, 60 and 77*, respectively, to make valuable contributions as Zimbabwe took a commanding lead of 270 runs. Bangladesh's second innings, on the other hand, finished at 185, handing Zimbabwe a big win.
