WI vs PAK, 2nd Test: Pakistan draw series with thumping win
Pakistan completed one of the most amazing Test match victories, defeating West Indies by eight wickets in the second and final Test at Queen's Park Oval on Wednesday, drawing the two-match series 1-1 in impressive fashion. Pakistan channelled outmost determination to bounce back and secure one of their most convincing overseas Test victories. Chasing a target of 75 runs on the fourth day, Pakistan romped to victory effortlessly, with captain Babar Azam displaying his class with consecutive sixes to seal the win. Babar, along with Abdullah Shafique (24), remained unbeaten on 24, guiding the side over the line with ease.
Earlier, West Indies, deciding to bat, posted a total of 344 in their opening innings. Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan played a crucial role with the ball, claiming four wickets and limiting West Indies from building an even bigger score. Pakistan, on the other hand, came out strongly with the bat, taking control through an outstanding innings from Abdullah Shafique, who fired an unbeaten 160 to anchor the innings. Skipper Babar Azam also made a brilliant contribution with a classy 88, helping Pakistan reach 387.
Meanwhile, West Indies' second innings suffered a disappointing collapse, with Pakistan's bowlers dominating from the outset. West Indies’ batting lineup crumbled under relentless pressure and was folded for 117 runs. Ali Usman and Sajid Khan took four wickets each as Pakistan ripped through West Indies’ batting attack. Notably, this is Pakistan’s first Test win away from home following eight defeats in a row.
