Sandeep Lamichhane returns as Nepal ODI captain ahead of ACC Men's Premier Cup

Nepal have made a notable change to their leadership setup ahead of the ACC Men's Premier Cup, with leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane taking over as the team's new ODI captain from Rohit Paudel. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has confirmed a 14-player squad for the tournament, which will be hosted by Malaysia from August 30 to September 12.
Lamichhane returns to the leadership role enduring a period of turbulence. This is his second spell as Nepal's ODI skipper. Earlier, he led Nepal in both limited-overs formats, but his time in charge ended in 2022 when he was suspended following the issuance of an arrest warrant. Previously, Lamichhane captained Nepal in 14 ODIs. Overall, he has played 77 ODIs, having 154 wickets.
