Australian star Megan Schutt handed two-match ban

Australia's in-form cricketer Megan Schutt has been handed a two-match suspension following an incident pertaining to prescription medication. As a result, the veteran Australia pace bowler will miss Thursday's third and final T20I against New Zealand, scheduled to be played on Thursday at North Sydney Oval. Moreover, she will also sit out Adelaide Strikers' opening game of WBBL|12 against Melbourne Stars on October 31.
âThe breach was a failure to adhere to requirements under the Sports Science and Sports Medicine guidelines with regard to prescription medication,â Cricket Australia said in a statement.
âThis relates to a single incidence which occurred while out of competition and was not for performance-enhancing purposes.â
The star pacer, who was recently seen in a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, apologised in light of the ban. Meanwhile, during the ODI series against Bangladesh, she played a heroic role with 10 wickets across the three games and claimed player of the series.
âI fully accept the penalty handed down and apologise for failing to meet the standards expected of me,â Schutt said.
âIâm sorry for the attention this has caused and appreciate the support Iâve received.â
