Haris Rauf fined 20% of match fee, England penalised for slow over-rate

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee and given an official reprimand for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the ODI against England in Lahore on Sunday. England have also been fined 15 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate. The incident involving Rauf occurred during the 46th over of Pakistan's innings when he argued with England all-rounder Will Jacks after appealing for a wide. Despite a warning from the umpire, Rauf continued the exchange and brushed past the official while walking towards Jacks. One demerit point was added to his record, taking his total to five.

England were penalised after being found three overs short of the required over-rate, even after time allowances were considered. Under ICC rules, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their team fails to bowl within the allotted time. Rauf and England captain Harry Brook accepted their respective charges and the sanctions proposed by ICC match referee Jeff Crowe. As a result, no formal hearings were required. The charges were brought by the match officials, including on-field umpires Rashid Riaz and Sharfuddoula.

The disciplinary action followed a thrilling match in which Pakistan secured a one-wicket victory over England. Shadab Khan scored an unbeaten century, while Rauf supported him with valuable runs. The pair added an unbeaten 89-run partnership for the final wicket to help Pakistan complete the chase with 17 balls remaining. The victory secured Pakistan's place in the ODI tri-series final against Sri Lanka on October 31.
