After recording a quintet of T20I centuries, Australia’s ferociously aggressive batter Glenn Maxwell threw the light back on his January 19 alcohol-related incident involving him.

As per 7news, Maxwell expressed his gratitude to the Australian cricket hierarchy for their “Outstanding Support”. Maxwell had fallen unconscious at a pub in Adelaide, and was rushed to hospital following the alcohol incident. Maxwell noted that the incident affected his family more than it affected him.

"I think probably it affected my family a little bit more than it affected me," Maxwell said.

Maxwell fell unconscious while drinking on January 19, attending a concert performed by Brett Lee’s band ’Six and Out’, which led to the immediate medical attention for him. Following the incident, Maxwell had been handed one-week off

“I knew I had that week off. And obviously that incident was less than ideal, and the timing. But I had that week off, I knew I had that week off away from the game,” Maxwell said.

"And I came back and got back into my running, my gym program and it felt really good and refreshed once I got back. And it's all been focused on getting myself ready for this [T20] series and what's to come. We know we have got four international games until the [T20] World Cup and how it comes around pretty quick. And I just try to make sure I'm in as good a space that I can be for that tournament,” Maxwell said.

On Sunday, Maxwell produced one of the best innings, scoring 120 from 55 balls to seal a series-winning victory for Australia during second T20I against West Indies.
