Starc surpasses Lillee in a special landmark

Australian bowling supremo Mitchell Starc bagged a scintillating record after overtaking fellow pacer Dennis Lellie on the list of players for most Test wickets for Australia. Starc reached the special landmark during the ongoing second Test match against New Zealand on Friday at Hagley Oval. 

Starc struck with three wickets as Australia dominated the day one,  routing New Zealand for 162 in their first innings. Starc surpassed Lillee's mark of 355 wickets to rise to the fourth on the list for most Test wickets by an Australian. Starc now has 357 wickets. Late Shane Warne leads the list with 708 scalps.

Earlier, Australia won the toss, putting the hosts to bat. Australia lead the two-match series 1-0 as New Zealand fail to put up a commanding fight against Australia. Australia are looking for a 2-0 series sweep as they continue to put down New Zealand.
