England are just ten days out from their Test series against Sri Lanka and they have been handed a crushing blow with skipper Ben Stokes suffering a hamstring injury just ahead of the significant Test series against Sri Lanka.

Stokes sustained the injury while batting for Northern Supercharges in the Hundred match against Manchester Originals. The latest injury has put Stokes into doubts for Sri Lanka series.

“It doesn't look great unfortunately but I think he'll be getting a scan tomorrow and see how he is," Brook told Sky Sports.

The injury occurred when Stokes ran for a single and collapsed to the ground, holding his left leg. This has raised concerns about his availability for the series. The absence of Stokes could disrupt the team's plans as well. At the end of the game, Stokes was seen on clutches. Stokes is set to undergo a scan on Monday to determine the extent of the injury and a call whether or not he will be available will be taken.
