Mahmudullah to retire from T20Is

Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah has announced that he will be bowing out of T20Is at the end of the ongoing three-match T20I series against India. Mahmudullah has been an important part of Bangladesh’s team over the past many years. Mahmudullah made his T20I debut against Kenya in 2007. He already retired from Test cricket back in 2021.
Mahmudullah will now continue to play ODI cricket, in which he registered remarkable success, being the top-scorer for Bangladesh at the ODI World Cup 2023.
"I am retiring from T20I cricket after the last game of this series. I was pre-decided before coming here. I had a chat with my family. I spoke to the coach [Chandika Hathurusinghe], captain [Najmul Hossain Shanto], chief selector [Gazi Ashraf Hossain] and the board president [Faruque Ahmed] as well. I think it is the right time to move on from this format for me and the team. Especially with the World Cup coming up in less than two years. I will concentrate on the one-day game,” Mahmudullah said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
