Hasaranga out of New Zealand ODIs

In a massive setback for Sri Lanka ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand, spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury. Hasaranga sustained the injury during the second T20I on Sunday. Leg-spinner Dushan Hemantha has replaced Hasaranga in Sri Lanka's ODI squad.
He has played five ODIs and was recently impressive for Sri Lanka A team. Hasaranga was incredibly instrumental for Sri Lanka during the T20Is. He returned with the figures of 2-20 in the first match, and 4-17 in the second. Earlier, New Zealand all-rounder Lockie Ferguson was also ruled out of the ODIs due to a calf injury.
Sri Lanka, however, will have proper spinners in Jeffrey Vandersay, Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage. The first ODI will be played on Wednesday in Dambulla.
