Riding on the back of Rachin Ravindra’s classy 112, New Zealand secured a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh on Monday, confirming their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing Champions Trophy. With Rachin Ravindra, who scored a brilliant 112, and a valuable 55-run contribution from Tom Latham, the Black Caps chased down Bangladesh’s total with ease.

In their chase of 236, New Zealand, lost Will Young for a duck in the first over itself, and Kane Williamson lost his wicket for 5. But, young talent Rachin Ravindra rose to the occasion, compiling 112, including 12 boundaries and one six to bring the side back into the game.

Earlier, Bangladesh, asked to bat, had a good start, with Tanzid Hasan and skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto scoring 24 and 77 respectively. But, Bangladesh were unable to build a substantial total. Despite having decent contributions from their top-order, their middle-order could not capitalise on the momentum. New Zealand's bowlers, particularly their spinner, Michael Bracewell, who claimed four wickets, put the brakes on the scoring rate, and Bangladesh struggled to accelerate in the latter stages of their innings.

With this win, New Zealand have booked their spot in the semi-finals of the tournament. Along with New Zealand, India have also locked their semi-final spot. On the other hand, Pakistan, along with Bangladesh, have been knocked out of the tournament after losing their first two games.
