England’s allrounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a toe injury. He had been roped in by SRH for his base price of INR 1 crore. Carse, who had been a part of the English squad for the Champions Trophy, aggravated the injury that curtailed his Champions Trophy campaign, leaving him sidelined for the rest of the tournament.

He played in England’s Champions Trophy opener against Australia, but could only bowl seven overs, leaking 69 runs. Later, the injury worsened and he was, subsequently ruled out of the tournament.

He had been having issue with his toe since England's white-ball tour of India before the Champions Trophy. But, it had been managed at that time, however it worsened during the Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, SRH have secured a replacement by signing South Africa’s promising allrounder Wiaan Mulder. Mulder played for South Africa during the Champions Trophy, taking six wickets from three games. This is Mulder’s first IPL.

The IPL begins on 22 March and Sunrisers Hyderabad will begin their campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 23.
