Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in their ongoing match at Chepauk against Chennai Super Kings, have set a daunting target of 197, finishing their innings at 196/7 in 20 overs. Batting first after being asked to do so, RCB started strong, thanks largely to their dynamic opening pair, before a valuable contribution from their captain propelled them to a competitive total.

RCB got off to an excellent start, with openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt each providing valuable contributions at the top of the order, scoring 31 and 32 respectively. However, despite their strong start, RCB couldn't completely capitalise on the opening partnership, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Meanwhile, it was the captain, Rajat Patidar, who played the most important knock of the innings. Patidar's attacking knock of 51 off 32 anchored the RCB's innings. During his innings, Rajat Patidar also completed 2,500 runs in the 20-over format.

Down the order, Tim David slammed three straight sixes off Sam Curran in the 20th in the late firepower. On the bowling front, CSK spinners had a mixed outing. While they were able to pick up important wickets, they struggled to maintain their rhythm, allowing RCB batters to continue their assault.
