Mumbai Indians seal playoffs spot with dominant win over DC

Mumbai Indians secured their place in the IPL 2025 playoffs with a clinical 59-run win over Delhi Capitals on Wednesday at Wankhede Stadium, showcasing their all-round prowess in a one-sided encounter. Asked to bat, MI posted a formidable total of 180 for 5 in 20 overs, with Suryakumar Yadav hammering a blistering 73-run knock unbeaten to anchor the innings with composure and determination.
Delhi Capitals, in response, never looked comfortable in the chase. They faltered from the outset, struggling to find rhythm against a strangling bowling attack from MI bowlers. DC were eventually bowled out for 121, falling well short of the target.
Mitchell Santner was the standout performer with the ball, weaving a web around DC’s batters to claim three crucial wickets. Jasprit Bumrah complemented him with pace and precision, finishing with three wickets of his own. The duo’s relentless pressure left DC with no breathing space, and the rest of the attack chipped in to maintain the stranglehold.
