In a landmark move, the upcoming five-match Test series between England and India will be contested for the newly named Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. According to BBC, the trophy will be unveiled ahead of the start of the highly anticipated series, which gets underway on June 20 at Headingley. This prestigious title honours two of the most iconic players in cricket history.  However, there has been no official confirmation from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who has played 200 Tests, is the highest run-scorer in Test cricket with 15,921 runs. Tendulkar represented India in Tests between 1989 and 2013. Sachin’s highest score in Tests is 248 unbeaten. James Anderson, the only fast bowler to have taken more than 600 wickets in Test cricket, was a cornerstone of England's bowling attack before announcing his retirement last year in July. Anderson, who played for England in 188 Test matches, has 704 wickets.

Earlier, the series played in England was called Pataudi Trophy, named after former Indian captain Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi and Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi (his son).
