IND-W vs SL-W, 2nd T20I: India aim to further tighten the screw

Following an impressive start to the five-match series, India Women will be keen to tighten their grip as they take on Sri Lanka Women in the 2nd T20I at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. The opening game gave India an upper edge, with the Women in Blue delivering a commanding all-round performance that showed India's confidence. India looked sharp and purposeful in the first game, putting Sri Lanka on the backfoot. The bowlers exploited the conditions expertly, stifling the Sri Lankan batting lineup. Restricting the visitors to a modest 121/6, India chased down the target in no time.
For Sri Lanka, Vishmi Gunaratne showed composure and promise with a steady 39 at the top, but Sri Lanka’s innings did not get a fruitful start. The middle order struggled to shift gears, allowing India to maintain control throughout the innings. India’s chase was smooth sailing. Jemimah Rodrigues anchored the innings with a superb unbeaten 69 off 44 as India cruised to victory with 32 balls to spare. Heading into the second game, pressure is on Sri Lanka to respond and captain Chamari Athapaththu to hit form.
