Alyssa Healy blasts sensational 158 in her ODI farewell
In a farewell befitting her stature in the game, Australia captain Alyssa Healy signed off in style, producing a breathtaking 158 from 98 balls in her final ODI appearance during the third ODI between Australia and India women in Hobart. The veteran batter's masterclass knock of 158 is the highest women’s ODI score against India and also the highest individual women’s ODI score recorded on Australian soil. In her knock, Healy struck 27 fours and two sixes.
Her century, the eighth of her ODI career, placed her alongside Australian great Karen Rolton on the list of most ODI hundreds by an Australian woman. Only Meg Lanning, with 15 centuries, leads the list. Earlier, the Indian players formed a guard of honour as Healy walked out for her final ODI innings.
Notably, Healy is set to retire from all forms of cricket following next week’s Perth Test, bringing the curtain down on a glittering career. Meanwhile, Australia posted a formidable total of 40/7 in 50 overs. Not to forget, Beth Mooney also scored a century, remaining unbeaten on 106.
