CPL 2026: Dwayne Bravo’s no. 47 jersey retired by Trinbago Knight Riders
Trinbago Knight Riders have paid one of their greatest players the most sparkling honour by retiring the No. 47 jersey worn by Dwayne Bravo. With this development, the number 47 will never again be carried by a TKR player, giving a lasting tribute to a talented cricketer. Bravo has now become the first player in Caribbean Premier League history to have his jersey retired.
"Dwayne Bravo's contribution to the Knight Riders and to the CPL is impossible to measure. Retiring No. 47 is our way of ensuring that his legacy will forever be a part of this franchise. There could be no more fitting player to become the first in CPL history to receive this honour," CEO of the Knight Riders group Venky Mysore said.
Throughout his career, Bravo was part of five title-winning campaigns as a player. Two of those victories came while he was leading TKR, with the franchise lifting the trophy in 2017 and 2018. His championship-winning record also includes the 2021 season, when he captained the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to the title win. Bravo appeared in 107 CPL matches, taking 129 wickets. Meanwhile, his final CPL appearance came in 2024.
